This friday, my friend and I settled in for a night of crafting and movies. We watched Lost Boys: The Tribe (the sequel to Lost Boys, a wonderfully quirky vampire movie from the 80's, which showed us the sleazy, unemployed carnival/beach culture of the california coast). It was as terrible as we all suspected it would be, but I still adore it. I'm just that hardcore of a Lost Boys fan that I can overlook the entirely lame script and boring setting. They brought back my favorite character! Thats all I need.
We pawed through my mother's fabric closet, finding wonderful treasures that I'd forgotten were in there. I've found some beautiful scraps to add to my foreverquilt and she measured and cut all the pieces for a lovely little purse-bag. I feel kind of proud, since she made it out of a pair of pants and she liked my highschool-era texas chainsaw mending so much she decided to keep it as part of the bag. My mending really did look pretty horrible, somehow including cloth that looked totally unlike the jeans, and then thread that looked nothing like either of the former.
